It's while seated in a small nepalese restaurant that I Looked, for the first time, at an indian poster. It was a calender from a company based in Calculla (Kolkata nowadays), represanting Krishna and Radha in wedding clothes overlined with goldden ink. I melted and after a short bargaining, I got this poster that was not about to be the last one. Five trips, seventeen months spent going up and down India and Nepal partly. About 14.000 Kms travelling by train, bus, auto-rickshaw, rickshaw-wallah, bicycle, a few pairs of shoes exhausted by such a long way, and a few hundreds of various posters, collected on my way. India, land of miracles, land of delights covers its old crumbling walls with unusual images, telling the people about a circus coming in town, announcing the release of the latest Bollywood movies, or the commercial of fire crackers, that indian people love so much, an educational campaign praising a better organised agriculture, or simply pointing out the qualities of the X tyre or the Y sewing machine. Posters extremely simplified or heavy loaded, fifties', modern styled, or just dateless, the indian posters designers have great fun for the pleasure of the ones who stop a minut for Looking at this images. I separated this collection in six galleries, following the majors subjects. Circus ,cinema, advertisment, religion, educationnal as well as paintings. Clicking is : Travelling-dreaming- forgetting about ourself. Present time is the essential, so let you carry by the indian graphic delirium and get high...
